Sideboard clock
Cabinet or Sideboard Image ID147: All rights reserved, Bordloub

In the 20th century, with the advent of art-deco, clockmakers created a new clock style, usually with a striking or chiming mechanism. Most of the time, built-in diverse wood veneer, these clocks had the shape of a horizontal box with a semi-circular top with a round bezel with a chapter ring directly attached to the front of the clock. We suggest naming them Cabinet or Sideboard clocks because they are often placed on such a piece of furniture. Here is a Canadian Fleet Cabinet clock with a German movement from the end of the 1930s.
